Team HYCON has been firing on all cylinders during the first half of September.

HYCON attended five blockchain conferences across APAC [Shanghai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Seoul] and successfully hosted its inaugural Hackathon in Seoul. We were also listed on two prominent exchanges, Bit-Z and OKCoin Korea, which marks our first listing on a Korean exchange and our first fiat on and off-ramp for Hycon trading.

Most importantly, our developers continued to kick some serious butt! Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger announced full Nano S/Blue support for Hycon as promised earlier in the roadmap.

Hycon’s biggest conference of the month was in Malaysia. Team Hycon was a silver sponsor at the ‘World Blockchain Summit 2018: ASEAN Decentralized 2.0’ in Malaysia which was held on September 3rd-4th.

On September 3rd, Hycon’s R&D Team Lead Niall Moore gave a strong presentation on Hycon’s decision to change the programming language to Rust that was published on August 31st.

On September 5th, HYCON/Glosfer CEO Taewon Kim talked about his first-generation blockchain company Glosfer and how he got into the blockchain world at the UNIV Startup Talk Concert held at Knowledge Lounge in Siheung, near Seoul.

On September 6th, Hycon’s Roadmap was updated to reflect fulfilled marketing and development goals. Hardware and desktop wallet support, participation in international conferences and ledger Nano S/Blue support were carried out as promised.

On September 7th, HYCON trading began at BIT-Z exchange for BTC and ETH pairs. Bit-Z is a Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange created in 2016.

On September 9th and 10th, Hycon VP Jason French and Marketing Manager Josh Igoe attended the Unblock Community conference in Hong Kong to recruit ambassadors and expand the Hycon community. Josh had a seat on a panel discussion as a bonus!

On September 13th, trading of HYCON began at OkCoin Korea exchange. This is the first time Hycon was paired with KRW. We will continue to list on top Korean and international exchanges moving forward.

Finally, Hycon wrapped up the second week of September in crypto style by throwing a splendid hackathon event in Seoul! Developers and blockchain enthusiasts gathered from all around the world for the ‘Hycon Hacks’ hackathon and hacked away over 32 hours. The event was attended by around 150 contestants and was well-received by the local media. Winning projects will be discussed in further detail in a separate post that will follow shortly.
